Are your tours private? – Our tours are by private transportation for just you, your family and friends, and are usually limited to no more than six participants. The small number of participants helps reduce our impact resulting from too many tourists attending a single event.
How much are your tours? – Our full day tours range in price from $70 USD, to $85 USD, depending on the location of your hotel. The price is per tour, not per person, up to a maximum of six guests.
What is included? – All tours include private air conditioned transportation, English speaking guide with a degree in Balinese Hindu religion and culture, use of Balinese traditional clothes, and bottled drinking water. Lunch is not included in the price; however we can make recommendations for where to eat traditional Balinese/Indonesian food, as well as restaurants with western food.
Do you stop for shopping? – Unlike some tour companies, we will not force you to visit any shops (where it is common for the drivers to receive a commission for your purchases). We do visit a local market on each tour, which is a fascinating way to observe traditional Balinese culture. (And maybe even purchase a local item). We also are happy to take you to any shop you may wish to visit and can provide recommended areas to shop; such as traditional crafts, teak furniture, bamboo furniture and paintings.
How do we know what ceremony we will attend? – We study the Balinese calendar and check with our Balinese friends to find out what will be the best traditional ceremony that we can visit on the day of your tour. If you have a specific type of ceremony you would like to see, just give us a couple of days notice and we will do our best to search it out for you!
Can we change the itinerary? – We are very flexible, and welcome the opportunity to work with you to make any changes to our standard itinerary. Please note, however that the standard itinerary is already a very full day. (Pickup from your hotel at nine in the morning, and will usually finish the day around five to six in the afternoon. We can also customize tours. Examples can include shopping expeditions or maybe a nice walk through a rice field!
